ICI is a Swiss-based, non-profit foundation dedicated to creating a better future for children in cocoa-growing communities. They are committed to eliminating child labor and forced labor by bringing together various stakeholders, including the cocoa and chocolate industry, civil society, farming communities, governments, international organizations, and donors. For over 13 years, ICI has been actively working in cocoa-growing communities in Côte d’Ivoire and Ghana, making significant progress in the fight against child labor in cocoa. Through their direct actions, they have improved child protection for more than 420,000 children between 2015 and 2020. Their efforts have resulted in a 20% reduction in child labor and a 50% reduction in hazardous child labor among at-risk children identified by ICI's monitoring systems in the communities they assist. As a multi-stakeholder partnership, ICI plays a crucial role in uniting different sectors to ensure a sustainable and responsible cocoa supply chain.
