## Description

CocoonTech.com is an online community and information resource focused on home automation and connected-home technology. Founded in 2003, the site has supported enthusiasts exploring how to build, customize, and integrate systems for their homes. Its guiding approach welcomes a wide range of technologies and encourages creative, unconventional ideas, with particular interest in do-it-yourself solutions.

The site brings together news, discussion forums, and resources covering smart-home products, automation platforms, lighting controls, networking, and related technologies. Members can follow industry announcements, ask questions, share projects, and discuss both current and older systems. Topics mentioned on the site include Z-Wave, Zigbee, Matter, Home Assistant, HomeSeer, Arduino, ESP32, and Raspberry Pi, alongside established technologies such as X10.

CocoonTech also reflects the evolution of home automation, from early self-hosted systems and distributed media setups to today’s connected devices. Rather than presenting a single product line, it serves as a meeting place for people interested in learning about, comparing, and creating home automation solutions.
