Working with organizations across Latin America and the Caribbean, it promotes digital autonomy, privacy, and security through free and open approaches to knowledge and technology. Its work includes training in communication, culture, and free technologies; implementing projects that improve access to secure tools; and supporting discussion of free culture and the commons. CódigoSur also researches and creates multimedia and audiovisual materials with partner organizations. Its projects offer practical learning, community infrastructure, and resources for everyday digital work. These include UPo, a community-centered training initiative; the Feminist School of Free Technologies; Milpa Digital, which provides free tools for daily work; and Resistencia Digital, an information channel about free technologies. The collective also produces Pitaya Digital, a podcast on technology and security, and Cosecha Digital, a radio series on digital security.
