## Description

Colégio o Bom João is an early childhood education centre in Amora, Seixal, Portugal, offering nursery care for children aged 1 to 3 and preschool education for ages 3 to 6. Its approach is grounded in the principles of Portugal’s Constitution and Basic Law of the Education System, with particular attention to learning about and protecting the environment. The school follows the Modern School Movement (MEM), encouraging children to participate in the cooperative, democratic organisation of classroom activities, materials, time and space. Through active, meaningful and varied experiences, it aims to nurture autonomy, curiosity, independent thinking, social development and cooperation. The programme includes age-specific classrooms that support children’s changing interests and abilities, alongside activities such as infant motor skills, music, ballet, English, yoga, creative dance, João-a-Rufar and taekwondo. Colégio o Bom João presents itself as a welcoming community where children are known by name and can learn, play and grow. The centre is open Monday to Friday, from 7:15 a.m. to 7:15 p.m.
