## Description

COLiBRI, or Collaborative Crop Breeding Research and Innovation for a Green Europe, is a Horizon Europe Coordination and Support Action focused on strengthening European plant breeding. Running from June 2026 to November 2028, the €3 million project brings together 17 partners from 13 countries. It aims to help the sector respond to climate change, biodiversity loss, food and nutritional security needs, and the goal of a more competitive agricultural sector.

Rather than offering commercial products, COLiBRI supports collaboration, research planning and knowledge sharing across the plant-breeding value chain. It connects researchers, breeders, farmers, industry, policymakers and end users, while assessing priorities, research needs, infrastructure and funding across crops, traits, technologies and production systems. The project is also developing a European research and innovation roadmap, implementation plan and collaborative governance framework to support a coordinated network and funding mechanism.

COLiBRI invites stakeholders to take part in consultations, workshops and co-creation activities through its network. Its website provides project information, focus areas, background materials, communications and news.
