## Description

The Collie Health Foundation (CHF) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the health and well-being of Rough and Smooth Collies. Founded in 1986, it supports research into canine health, with a particular focus on diseases, genetic conditions, and other problems affecting Collies. The Foundation reports investing nearly $2 million in grants for Collie health research.

CHF also promotes public understanding of dogs and Collies through educational resources about genetics, care, responsible breeding, health, development, and training. Its work includes supporting DNA collection and storage, building a national resource database, and sharing information with the public. The Foundation’s stated breeding guidance emphasizes avoiding pairings known to carry a preventable or high risk of severe disability or poor quality of life.

People can support its mission by becoming members, making donations, including CHF in a will, or participating in fundraising activities. The organization also offers newsletters, health articles, videos, merchandise, and events such as the Sunnybank Gathering and a dinner and auction.
