## Description

Collingwood Historic Art is the official gallery and website of Devon-based British fine artist Chris Collingwood, whose traditional paintings bring military history and historical drama to life. With more than forty years as a professional artist, Collingwood has depicted subjects spanning ancient Rome to the Second World War, including Roman legions, medieval knights, Civil War soldiers, Golden Age pirates, Napoleonic cavalry, redcoats in Zululand and British troops on the Western Front. His work includes panoramic battle scenes, multi-image historical portraits and portrayals of ordinary soldiers across different eras. Known for detailed research, historical accuracy and a strong sense of period, he works with oils and canvas in a traditional manner, without digital imagery or AI. Collingwood Historic Art presents galleries organized by historical period, as well as pencil drawings, featured projects and an archive. Visitors can explore original paintings and prints for sale, and commission unique artworks. The site also shares the artist’s biography and contact details for prospective clients and collectors.
