## Description

The Colonial Collections Consortium is a collaborative network of five Dutch organizations: Museum Bronbeek, NIOD, the Cultural Heritage Agency of the Netherlands, the Rijksmuseum, and Wereldmuseum. Bringing together expertise on collections with colonial contexts, the consortium supports museums, libraries, universities, and archives as they investigate the histories and provenance of objects in their care.

Its work focuses on sharing knowledge, answering questions, and connecting collection-holding institutions with relevant expertise and peers. The consortium provides practical research tools, informative blogs, provenance reports, and in-depth articles to help organizations get started and develop their research. It also organizes webinars and other opportunities for knowledge exchange, and shares information about research funding through its provenance research scheme.

To improve transparency and access to information about colonial collections, the consortium has developed the Colonial Collections Datahub and research aids. It also promotes training for heritage professionals, including a provenance research course developed by the Heritage Academy together with the Cultural Heritage Agency.
