Colorjinn is a brand that emerged from Tricolore, a design consultancy specializing in color design for architecture. Founded in 1989 by a designer, an artist, and a color scientist, Tricolore initially offered static color schemes. However, with the development of specialized viewing software, Colorjinn seized the opportunity to involve clients, tenants, and other designers in the creative process.

This approach proved to be a tremendous success, with over 4000 copies of the software being distributed solely in the Netherlands. By closely collaborating with their principals, Colorjinn gained an extensive knowledge of what matters to all parties involved in the paint and architecture trades, as well as their specific needs. To better cater to customers' requirements, Tricolore established Colorjinn, a new IT company.
