## Description

Committing Memory is a history and storytelling practice working at the intersection of geography, memory, and creativity. It helps individuals and organizations share personal and collective histories to better understand present-day issues and develop ideas for the future. The practice provides research, resources, and guidance for telling stories in ways that are authentic, respectful, and creative, treating clients’ memories and experiences professionally and confidentially.

Its approach explores how family, community, place, and belief shape memory and history. Storytelling strategies may include written and spoken words, visual art, and other creative forms, alongside traditional reports and writing. Prospective clients can book a free 50-minute consultation to assess whether Committing Memory is the right partner. The team brings more than 30 years of experience helping people and organizations uncover personal and shared stories.

Committing Memory’s portfolio includes publications on cultural memory, quilting, and regional history, as well as projects involving reconciliation, museums, heritage organizations, and historical resources.
