## Description

Its name reflects a vision of keeping music at the heart of a shared space where artists and creators, the music industry, and listeners can build better relationships. Guided by the idea “think global, act local,” commmons also embraces ecological awareness and social and cultural contribution.

The label was conceived as a platform for artists to create, release, and sell music, while providing practical resources and support. Its founding vision sought to balance artistic and business priorities and make services such as legal, financial, promotional, and sales support accessible to creators. The commmons catalog includes works by Sakamoto and other artists, alongside soundtracks, collaborative recordings, film-related projects, and orchestral releases. Its website features music releases, news, archives, contact information, and an online store. Following Sakamoto’s death, commmons is focused on preserving and sharing his work, learning from his ideas about music, and helping create opportunities for new music to emerge.
