## Description

The Canadian Organization of Medical Physicists (COMP) is the leading professional body for medical physicists in Canada. Its membership includes physicists, scientists, and academics working in universities, hospitals, cancer centers, and government research facilities. Medical physics graduate students and post-doctoral fellows are also eligible for membership. 

COMP aims to promote the application of physics in medicine by developing standards, policies, guidelines, and research in the field. They offer timely and relevant programs and services to support the roles of medical physicists. COMP serves as the national and international voice for medical physics in Canada and strives to attract members dedicated to excellent patient care. The organization also forms strategic alliances with similar organizations and advocates for certification by the Canadian College of Physicists in Medicine. 

COMP organizes the Annual Scientific Meeting and Winter School, providing opportunities for members to network, share research, and discuss important issues. They also have two official journals, Medical Physics and Physics in Medicine and Biology. Corporate membership is encouraged, allowing industry partners to showcase products and form collaborations.
