## Description

La Compagnie du Lamparo, founded in 2003 by Manu Théron and Nora Mauriaucourt, is a Marseille-based association uniting musicians dedicated to artistic projects focused on the Mediterranean and Occitan heritage. The company engages in the collection of sound documents, the creation of new works, and the transmission of popular knowledge. Their exploration highlights the intricate relationships between the Occitan cultural expressions and the Mediterranean musical traditions that have influenced Marseille since its inception.

La Compagnie du Lamparo aims to reclaim and uplift the region's rich intangible heritage through innovative interpretations of traditional music. With a blend of diverse musical styles and a distinct poetic approach, they create a space for audiences to connect with both the volatile and exhilarating aspects of their local history. Their various projects, such as Ve zou via and Polifonic System, showcase this commitment to cultural revitalization. The company not only seeks to preserve tradition but also to reinvigorate it within contemporary contexts, contributing significantly to Marseille's vibrant cultural landscape.
