Compote Collective, founded in 2008 by Vessela Dantcheva and Ivan Bogdanov, stands as one of Bulgaria's premier animation production companies specializing in artistic and independent animated short films. The collective serves as a vibrant platform for over 15 animation directors, each showcasing distinct individual styles. With a passion for storytelling through animation, Compote Collective has successfully produced 17 animated short films during its 15-year journey. These works have been celebrated at more than 650 international film festivals, garnering over 70 prestigious awards. Notable productions include "Father" (2012), "Travelling Country" (2016), "Trace" (2022), and the acclaimed animated poetry anthology "Mark and Verse" (2015-2020), which features 12 shorts inspired by contemporary Bulgarian poetry. Alongside film production, Compote Collective also engages in various commissions and educational content, establishing itself as a creative hub in the animation industry. Through their innovative works, they continue to contribute significantly to the dynamic landscape of animation in Bulgaria and beyond.
