Conflict Kitchen is a unique restaurant that offers cuisine from countries that are in conflict with the United States. Each iteration of Conflict Kitchen is accompanied by events, performances, publications, and discussions that aim to immerse the public in the culture, politics, and issues of the focus region. Currently, Conflict Kitchen presents the Haudenosaunee version, which allows customers to explore the food, culture, and politics of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy, also known as the Iroquois Confederacy. This iteration sheds light on Indigenous sovereignty, economic and environmental conflict, and cultural erasure. Through diverse publications and programming, Conflict Kitchen sparks questioning, conversation, and debate among customers and the general public. Located in the heart of Pittsburgh, Conflict Kitchen uses food and economic exchange to engage the community in discussions about countries, cultures, and people that are often misunderstood.
