## Description

Congo Research Group (CRG) is an independent, non-profit research initiative focused on the complexities of violence and conflict affecting millions in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Based at the Center on International Cooperation at New York University, CRG aims to fill critical gaps in the understanding of political and security developments in the region. With a research team comprising mostly Congolese scholars, CRG emphasizes promoting local voices in the broader discourse often dominated by outside perspectives.

CRG produces in-depth reports analyzing various aspects of the conflict, including a comprehensive investigation of the Beni massacres and the intricate relationship between elections and violence. Their research is complemented by a rich array of outreach formats, including succinct briefings, an insightful podcast featuring experts, and engaging visual content like maps and infographics. Additionally, CRG maintains active blogs showcasing perspectives on Congolese politics. Through these efforts, CRG seeks to empower Congolese communities and inform policy debates, helping hold leaders accountable for their actions.
