## Description

The Connolly Foundation is a major charity serving Bedfordshire, focused on meeting the changing needs of young people and older residents. It has given more than £13 million to local organisations and causes, supporting opportunities for young people and helping older people live with comfort and dignity. The Foundation awards grants in two main areas: education and support for older people. It works mainly through charitable organisations, helping keep costs under control so funding can be directed towards projects and their beneficiaries.

Its education work includes student bursaries, support for Bedfordshire colleges and schools, and initiatives to help young people raise their aspirations. The Foundation has also supported projects involving Bedford Giving and the Bedford Blues Foundation. For older people, its areas of support include hospice care, community transport, health promotion, help with IT, and efforts to reduce loneliness and isolation. Its work encompasses both current and former projects, with information available about its impact, grant applications, trustees, and news.
