Con Pazion is a brand that was founded in December 2017 by Leonie van Iersel in the Netherlands. Leonie has an extensive background in managing positions in schools and a broad experience in primary and secondary education. In April 2017, she moved to Peru to fulfill her long-standing dream of creating sustainable change in the lives of vulnerable children, helping them reach their full potential. After witnessing the conditions in the slums of Manchay, an outskirt of Lima, Leonie was deeply impacted and wanted to make a difference. She started volunteering in Manchay and never left. She decided to give the children of Manchay a voice and devised a plan to provide them with a chance for a better future. With the goal of offering quality education to all children, regardless of their background or resources, Leonie lobbied the Peruvian Ministry of Education to allow an alternative school within the traditional public-school system. After a challenging process, on March 19th, 2021, the revolutionary agreement for the first holistic public school in Peru was signed. Con Pazion is proud and honored to be given this opportunity to make a lasting impact on the lives of these children.
