## Description

CONSOLE is a European research and collaboration project focused on improving the lasting delivery of agri-environmental and climate public goods by agriculture and forestry. It develops contractual solutions that shape cooperation between public authorities, farmers and other stakeholders, with the aim of making environmental action effective, feasible and sustainable. The project brings together researchers, practitioners and stakeholders in a Community of Practice, using their experience and feedback to inform a practical contractual framework and model contracts.

CONSOLE’s work includes reviewing existing initiatives, assessing farmers’ and stakeholders’ views, and investigating the feasibility of new agreements. It also uses economic and integrated modelling to compare potential solutions and explore how findings can apply across different settings. Case studies from across Europe examine approaches such as biodiversity monitoring, nature conservation, collective land management and soil-carbon storage. The project shares its research through reports, resources, training, workshops and outreach activities. Its website provides information on work packages, partners, case studies, events and project materials, supporting the exchange of knowledge on cooperation models for environmental outcomes in farming and forestry.
