## Description

The Coorong Environment Trust is an organisation focused on the long-term health of the Lower Lakes and Coorong in South Australia. It brings together scientific research, community knowledge, the experiences of past generations and the knowledge of Traditional Owners to support ecological and cultural benefits. Its work aims to generate new data and stories that can inform the future care of this important estuary.

The Trust provides resources and opportunities for people interested in the region, including a data repository, scientific research, community data monitoring portals, publications and fact sheets. Its reporting includes annual reports and the State of Our Estuary Report, which shares information about the estuary’s condition. The organisation also hosts events, offers Trust membership and invites public support through donations, fundraising and investment initiatives. Its news and media updates highlight research, environmental concerns and developments affecting local wildlife and habitats. Guided by respect for Traditional Owners and Custodians, the Trust acknowledges their continuing connection to Country and recognises that Aboriginal sovereignty has never been ceded.
