## Description

COPASI is a software brand focused on modeling and analyzing biochemical networks and their dynamics. Its main product is a standalone biochemical system simulator that supports models in the SBML standard and allows researchers to explore how systems behave over time. The simulation engine offers ordinary and stochastic differential equation methods, as well as Gillespie’s stochastic simulation algorithm, and supports discrete events. COPASI also includes analysis methods, optimization, and parameter estimation tools for investigating and fitting models.

The software is available for free under the Artistic License 2.0, which permits both commercial and non-commercial use. Users can access downloads, manuals, video tutorials, technical documentation, a forum, and an issue tracker. The COPASI ecosystem also includes related projects: basiCO, a simplified Python interface; CoRC, an R connector; and sbmodelr, a Python command-line utility for building larger models from repeated units. Developed by the COPASI team, the application is updated through regular releases that add features and improvements to simulation, modeling, and analysis workflows.
