## Description

COSCIENS Biopharma is a specialty biopharmaceutical company focused on developing and commercializing pharmaceutical and diagnostic products, including solutions for areas of significant unmet medical need. Guided by the idea of combining nature with science, the company develops natural-based active ingredients intended to support health and wellness. Its portfolio includes oat beta glucan, oat avenanthramides, and oat oil, which are used in products from household-name brands and are being developed for applications in cosmeceuticals, nutraceuticals, and pharmaceuticals.

Oat beta glucan is described as supporting the skin’s moisture barrier and wound healing, while also offering potential benefits for cholesterol, blood sugar control, and gut health. Oat avenanthramides, available as a liquid or superfine powder, are used to soothe itchy, red, or inflamed skin. Oat oil is extracted from whole oat kernels using a gentle process that retains biologically active components, including antioxidants, vitamin E, and essential fatty acids. It is used to support skin hydration and barrier function, as well as in skin, cosmetic, and hair products.
