## Description

COSLA is a representative organisation for local government in Scotland, bringing councils and elected leaders together to influence national policy and support local democracy. Its work focuses on the role of councils in delivering services, strengthening communities and responding to Scotland’s social, economic and environmental challenges. COSLA advocates for local decision-making, community empowerment and sustainable funding for local services, and promotes collaboration between local and Scottish Government. Its priorities include public service reform, health and social care, education, housing, climate action, workforce needs and support for future generations. The organisation shares policy positions, news, briefings and campaign materials, including its manifesto and proposals for investing in Scotland’s future. COSLA also convenes meetings and events, provides a conference centre, and recognises achievement through its Excellence Awards. Its website offers information about the organisation, its teams and decision-making, along with documents, council resources and related services. COSLA’s work emphasises that changes to public services should be evidence-based, developed jointly and shaped by the communities and workforce affected.
