## Description

BetterCare is COST Action CA22152, a European research and innovation network focused on making care at home safer. Supported by COST (European Cooperation in Science and Technology), it brings together citizens, care recipients, informal and professional caregivers, and experts from different disciplines and countries. Its central goal is to prevent caregiver errors at home and improve the safety of people receiving care, while encouraging open discussion about the causes and consequences of those errors.

The initiative responds to the growing complexity of home care and the need to equip caregivers with the skills and knowledge to provide safe, person-centred support. Its work includes collaboration through working groups, training schools, meetings, webinars, and public awareness activities. BetterCare also shares news, resources, podcasts, and practical ideas, including contributions to its Home Safety Action Wall. Topics highlighted include medication safety, patient safety in informal caregiving, and gender equity. Through these activities, the network supports the exchange of knowledge and good practices across Europe and promotes stronger recognition of the role of caregivers in the emerging care economy.
