Coughlin Saunders Foundation is a brand that honors its founders, F. Hugh Coughlin and R. Rife Saunders, by striving to make a difference.

Saunders, a dealer for GM's Chevrolet Motor Company, believed in the potential of Central Louisiana and was involved financially with CLECO. The foundation's initial projects focused on fundraising for college-level education projects, contributing to the establishment of LSU Alexandria and the Carolyn and Rife Saunders School of Nursing at Louisiana College.
