# Cowley Club - **Website:** - **Primary alias:** `cowley.club` ## Description The Cowley Club is a vibrant, volunteer-run anarchist social centre located on London Road in Brighton, renowned for its commitment to grassroots social change. Opened in March 2003, this independent community space features a cozy café and bookshop during the day, serving up delicious vegan fare, as well as a members-only bar in the evenings. Additionally, it houses a radical library and hosts various projects that advocate for social justice and mutual aid. Structured as a members-run co-operative, the Cowley Club empowers its users to take shared responsibility for its operations, ensuring that all profits are reinvested into the community rather than distributed. The club’s governance is rooted in collective decision-making, with General Meetings occurring monthly to foster inclusivity and transparency. By providing an alternative space for creativity, connection, and activism, the Cowley Club stands as a crucial hub for those seeking a platform for change and support in the Brighton community.
