## Description

The Center for Participatory Research and Development (CPRD) is an independent, non-profit policy, research, and implementation institute based in Dhaka, Bangladesh. It works to promote alternative development ideas and policies at local, national, regional, and global levels through research, innovation, advocacy, solidarity, and practical action. Its focus areas include climate change, climate justice, displacement and migration, livelihoods, biodiversity, green energy, disaster risk reduction, urban resilience, and the blue economy.

CPRD conducts research and supports evidence-based policy discussions on issues such as climate finance, loss and damage, climate-induced migration, human rights, and resilient development. Its work includes ongoing and completed research projects, policy publications, reports, dialogues, workshops, and public events. The organization also campaigns on social development issues and designs capacity-building programs, including training for development stakeholders based on identified needs. CPRD collaborates with civil society organizations and international partners, and supports collective advocacy, including the Climate Justice Alliance–Bangladesh. Its publications and events aim to connect research and ground-level evidence with policy recommendations and coordinated civil society positions.
