## Description

Cranbrook Academy of Art is a graduate school in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, devoted exclusively to education in art, architecture, craft, and design. Its studio-based approach emphasizes professional artistic practice, giving students time to create and experiment rather than focusing primarily on lectures. More than 100 students join the Academy each year, learning within a close-knit artistic community and receiving mentorship from Artists-in-Residence, each of whom leads a dedicated program and lives and works on campus.

The Academy offers 10 programs leading to Master of Fine Arts or Master of Architecture degrees: Architecture, Ceramics, Fiber, Graphic Design, Industrial Design, Metalsmithing, Painting, Photography, Print Media, and Sculpture. Students are encouraged to cross disciplinary boundaries, explore different media, and learn from one another. Set on a historically significant campus, Cranbrook combines study with a shared living and working experience. Its alumni include influential artists, architects, and designers whose work has shaped creative practice internationally.
