## Description

BioJeL is the Biological Resources Center of the Jérôme Lejeune Institute, a specialist biobank focused on intellectual disabilities of genetic origin. Located close to the Institute’s clinical consultations, it supports research by preserving and making human biological resources available to the scientific community. Its collections cover four groups: people with trisomy 21, people with other intellectual disabilities, cases of intellectual disability with unknown etiology, and controls. The catalogue includes more than 20,000 resources, such as DNA, plasma, blood cell lines and fibroblasts. BioJeL also offers induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs), expanding the types of materials available for research. The center works with collaborators in France and internationally, and its resources have been used in publications and collaborative projects. Its activities include the conservation and management of biological samples, support for research projects, and access to information about available resources through its catalogue. BioJeL provides a point of connection between biological resource provision and research into genetic conditions associated with intellectual disability.
