Create Caribbean

Create Caribbean Research Institute is an academic research and teaching center located on the Caribbean island of Dominica. As a non-profit organization, their mission is to make knowledge accessible and freely shared throughout the Caribbean. They accomplish this through various initiatives, including research projects, educational technology support, and community outreach.

Create Caribbean offers a range of services, such as research support and consultation, educational technology resources, and academic support services to faculty, students, and staff at Dominica State College. Their interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary research projects prioritize Caribbean history, literature, and arts, but they also provide partnerships and support to the entire Dominica State community.

In addition to their research efforts, Create Caribbean runs the Create & Code program, which aims to promote digital literacy among students aged 5-16. Through this program, students are encouraged to engage in coding, game and app development, blogging, and responsible social media use.

By pledging their skills and resources to the center's success, the Create Caribbean team is committed to empowering Dominican and Caribbean youth. They strive to bridge gaps in digital literacy and cultural fluency, ensuring that knowledge and technology are accessible to all.
