Creating a Family is a national adoption and foster care education and support nonprofit organization. Our mission is to strengthen and inspire adoptive parents, foster parents, and kinship parents, as well as the professionals who support them. We believe that every adopted and foster child deserves a family who understands their unique strengths and challenges, and we strive to equip families with the resources and training they need to help these children thrive.

Our expert-based and trauma-informed resources include online courses, suggested books, and support group curricula. We also provide information on adoption tax credits, foster care legal options, and kinship care. At Creating a Family, we are committed to creating diverse, equitable, and inclusive communities, where all children and families are accepted, celebrated, and loved.
