## Description

Creative Calligraphy is a calligraphy teaching and commission business based in the north east of England, run by calligrapher and tutor Angela Reed. With more than ten years of teaching experience, Angela offers friendly, supportive weekly classes in Sunderland and South Shields, welcoming complete beginners and experienced calligraphers alike. Students learn traditional scripts including Foundational Hand, Italic, Uncial, Gothic and Copperplate, developing skills in letter structure, spacing, flow and the use of dip pens, nibs and ink. Classes guide learners through practical exercises and finished projects, while helping them practise independently and make informed choices about materials, layout and presentation.

Angela also creates commissioned calligraphy for individuals and organisations across the region and beyond, including universities, churches, cultural organisations and public bodies. Projects include work for exhibitions, publications, events and special occasions, combining traditional techniques with contemporary contexts. The brand’s online shop offers calligraphy kits and downloadable resources for Copperplate and Foundational Hand, as well as downloads for Italic and Uncial scripts.
