## Description

CREW Carbon is a climate technology company focused on improving wastewater treatment while removing greenhouse gases. Based in Brooklyn, New York, and New Haven, Connecticut, it offers a process-intensification solution designed to integrate with facilities’ existing biological treatment systems. The technology doses a calcium-based mineral product, identified in project reporting as calcium carbonate, to enhance alkalinity and support more efficient treatment.

CREW says its approach can optimize biological nutrient removal, improve sludge floc settleability, reduce reliance on conventional alkalinity chemicals, coagulants, and polymers, and help utilities lower operating costs. More stable treatment can support effluent quality and regulatory compliance, while replacing hazardous chemicals can improve operator safety. By using locally sourced minerals and reducing process emissions, the company also aims to decarbonize wastewater operations.

For carbon removal buyers, CREW offers a continuous approach that uses existing infrastructure and inlet-and-outlet monitoring to measure carbon removal. Its projects include wastewater facilities operated by Hampton Roads Sanitation District and a high-purity oxygen facility in the northeastern United States.
