## Description

CREWS (Climate Risk and Early Warning Systems) is an operations-led funding initiative that helps countries strengthen forecasting, climate services, and early warning systems, especially in Least Developed Countries and Small Island Developing States eligible for official development assistance. Its purpose is to ensure people and institutions receive timely, trusted information about hazards so they can act before disasters strike, protecting lives, livelihoods, and resilience.

Through country, regional, and global projects, CREWS supports investment in people, institutions, countries, and innovation. Its work helps develop or improve weather forecasting, multi-hazard warning capabilities, and disaster management, while building community knowledge and strengthening the institutions responsible for delivering services. Funding pathways support programmes across Africa, Asia and the Pacific, and the Caribbean, alongside global initiatives such as Early Warnings for All.

Led by a growing group of nations, CREWS works with implementing partners to expand accessible, sustainable investment and encourage innovation and strategic collaboration. Its 2030 strategy focuses on strengthening early warning system foundations, catalysing scaled investment, and advancing integrated next-generation systems.
