## Description

Croce Rossa Italiana – Comitato dell’Area Sud Milanese is a local committee of the Italian Red Cross, serving communities in and around Opera. Guided by the principle that every request for help deserves attention, it supports people experiencing hardship and vulnerability through emergency response, health services, social assistance and community education. Its work includes urgent rescue, medical transport, nursing services, food assistance and civil protection activities. The committee also operates a nursing clinic and a logistics and assistance hub, and provides information on heat waves, weather conditions and regional alerts.

Education is another important part of its work. The committee offers courses for residents, businesses and public organisations, including training in cardiopulmonary resuscitation and life-saving techniques. Its instructors take part in public awareness initiatives such as the national Viva! campaign, helping people learn how to respond to cardiac emergencies. Those interested in supporting its activities can volunteer, donate or contribute through Italy’s 5×1000 tax designation.
