## Description

Crossways Community Creche is a community-based, whānau-led, not-for-profit early childhood education and care centre in Mount Victoria, Wellington. Located in a cottage at 61 Majoribanks Street, it has supported children and families since 1979, welcoming tamariki aged one to five. The centre’s approach is grounded in play, partnership and respect, with learning shaped around each child’s interests and development. A maximum of 22 children attend each day, supported by high teacher-to-child ratios and a team that includes four fully qualified teachers, a teaching assistant and a volunteer. Crossways aims to provide a nurturing, home-like environment where children flourish and families connect. Its cooperative, parent-run organisation is committed to sustainable service for children today and in the future. The centre also makes use of its natural surroundings, with regular excursions to nearby Mount Victoria and the Innermost Gardens, helping children explore and connect with the natural world. Crossways offers enrolment information and resources for families, and invites prospective whānau to visit and learn about its community-focused programme.
