## Description

Lateral is a pioneering peer-reviewed, open-access digital journal established by the Cultural Studies Association, focusing on the dynamic interplay of cultural studies and contemporary social issues. Published semiannually, Lateral offers critical insights into topics such as race, feminism, disability, neoliberalism, and more. The journal aims to foster dialogue through a diverse range of content, including featured articles, book reviews, and forums that explore the nuances of cultural phenomena across various contexts.

Lateral also hosts the "Positions" podcast, which provides a platform for critical reflection on relevant topics within cultural studies, reaching both scholars and broader audiences. The journal encourages contributions that interrogate the complexities of race and racism through innovative projects like the Cultural Constructions of Race and Racism Research Collective (CcRrrC). Through its commitment to open access and community engagement, Lateral serves as a vital resource for academic inquiry, activism, and the evolution of cultural studies.
