## Description

BASIS is a learning initiative focused on strengthening civil society and democracy in Indonesia. Its online Civil Society and Democracy (CSD) Platform, developed through the BASIS program by YAPPIKA and SEPAHAM Indonesia with support from the European Union, offers free learning resources for anyone interested in human rights, democracy, civic participation, and social change. The platform is designed for broad and inclusive access, including for people who are blind or deaf, and learners can study at their own pace from any location.

Its structured learning pathway covers three connected themes: young leaders for social transformation; youth leadership for civic activism; and building the legitimacy and resilience of civil society. Courses address topics such as leadership, community work, advocacy, public participation, civic space, organizational development, collaboration, and sustainability. Learning activities include pre-tests, written and video materials, post-tests, and discussion forums. Participants can also connect through webinars and the platform’s community features.
