## Description

EMSC (European Mediterranean Seismological Centre) is a renowned international, non-profit organization dedicated to the rapid collection and dissemination of earthquake information, as well as the promotion of global seismological research. Established in 1975 and operational since 1976, EMSC provides real-time data on seismic events, specifically targeting earthquakes with magnitudes exceeding 5 in the Euro-Mediterranean region and those above 7 globally. Leveraging contributions from seismological institutes worldwide and crowdsourced eyewitness reports, EMSC operates with a mission to enhance earthquake monitoring and foster scientific collaboration across Europe and the Mediterranean.

Offering a comprehensive array of services, EMSC features recent earthquake updates, an interactive earthquake map, special reports, and a platform for citizen seismology through their LastQuake app. The center actively engages with both member institutes and the public to gather critical seismic data, reinforcing its role as a vital resource in earthquake research and safety for communities across multiple regions. Join EMSC in supporting seismic monitoring efforts for a safer future.
