## Description

CSES, or the Comparative Study of Electoral Systems, is a pioneering collaborative research program that investigates the intersection of electoral institutions and political behavior. Since its inception, CSES has released several modules focusing on various aspects of electoral dynamics. Module 1 (1996-2001) explored the influence of electoral systems on voting behavior, while subsequent modules have addressed critical topics such as representation, accountability, voter preferences, and political choices. The ongoing Module 6 (2021-2026) evaluates citizens' roles in representative democracy amid contemporary challenges.

CSES not only collects and disseminates valuable electoral data but also offers insights through rigorous analyses that inform scholars, policymakers, and the public. It promotes academic collaboration through initiatives like the GESIS Klingemann Prize, recognizing outstanding CSES scholarship. Supported by the Center for Political Studies, GESIS, and the American National Science Foundation, CSES serves as an essential resource for understanding electoral systems' effects worldwide and enhances the political discourse in comparative research.
