## Description

Meals on Wheels of Ocean County is a nonprofit organization serving older adults and eligible people with disabilities throughout Ocean County. Its mission is to support seniors’ health, independence, safety, and connection by providing more than food: each home delivery also includes a wellness and safety check and a friendly visit. The organization prepares fresh meals daily and delivers one meal each weekday to eligible homebound residents who cannot safely or independently obtain or prepare food. Weekend meals are available for select participants. Eligibility may also extend to spouses of homebound older adults and people with disabilities under 60 who live with an eligible senior.

In addition to home-delivered meals, Meals on Wheels of Ocean County offers Outreach Services and onsite dining at its Community Cafes. It reports serving about 286,000 meals to 2,000 seniors annually. Meals are provided without a required fee, though participants are invited to contribute $3 per meal toward costs.
