## Description

The Cherenkov Telescope Array Observatory (CTAO) is an international observatory dedicated to exploring the Universe through high-energy gamma rays. Bringing together the CTAO Central Organisation and a global network of partners, it is developing two telescope arrays with three classes of telescopes to observe the full night sky at unprecedented resolution. Its research aims to advance understanding of cosmic particles, supermassive black holes, dark matter and other energetic phenomena, while creating opportunities for discoveries beyond current knowledge.

The CTAO supports scientific collaboration through its observatory facilities, including CTAO-North, CTAO-South, its Headquarters and Science Data Management Centre. It is designed as an open-data observatory, making data, science products and software tools accessible to the wider community, with tools planned as open source. The organisation also shares scientific resources and information for researchers, partners and the public. Beyond its scientific mission, the CTAO promotes global cooperation and aims to advance science, technology and education in ways that support a more accessible, equitable and sustainable world.
