The Cultural Intellectual Property Rights Initiative (CIPRI) is a worldwide movement dedicated to recognizing and protecting the cultural intellectual property rights of craftsmen and women who preserve traditional garments, designs, and manufacturing techniques. Founded in April 2018, the initiative aims to eliminate culturally appropriative behavior in the fashion industry and establish a system that nurtures, sustains, and safeguards traditional knowledge and cultural expressions.
