## Description

Culturebot is a brand that is dedicated to promoting and engaging in critical thought about experimental performance. They use publishing as a way to legitimize and amplify the voices of a marginalized sector of the art world. Unlike traditional reviews, Culturebot seeks to enter into dialogue by utilizing various creative forms, including personal responses to performances, interviews with artists, post-show conversations, visual responses, essays, poems, videos, and podcasts. Their aim is to expand how we talk about art and challenge our notions of acceptable forms for discussion. Since its launch in 2003 as a blog for Performance Space 122 in New York City, Culturebot has evolved into a 21st century arts organization. They not only publish content but also present performances, convene conversations, build community, and support artists, critical discourse, and professional development. Culturebot aspires to be deeply knowledgeable and widely accessible, recognizing that criticism is a creative practice and critical discourse is essential for a vibrant cultural ecology.
