## Description

Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP) is Amazon’s self-publishing service, helping authors publish and distribute books in digital and paperback formats. The platform also connects authors with Kindle Unlimited through KDP Select, which can help them reach new readers and earn additional income. KDP provides tools for managing books, accounts, and publishing activity, alongside a community where authors can connect with peers and experts.

The page describes how former CreateSpace users can move their account and books to KDP. Authors verify their CreateSpace email, link an existing KDP account or create a new one, and then access their books on the platform. Existing KDP tax details may be used for both digital and paperback sales, while CreateSpace tax information may be transferred when needed. Authors with separate business entities for print and digital publishing can choose an account structure suited to their activities.

Amazon also presents related services: CreateSpace for independent print publishing and ACX for independent audiobook publishing.
