Description

Cut Fruit Collective is a grassroots group based in the SF Bay Area, dedicated to creating art for AAPI community care. Their mission is to build resilience within AAPI communities through the power of art and storytelling. As a fiscally sponsored project of Possibility Labs 501c3, they are able to secure funding to support their initiatives.

Cut Fruit Collective envisions a future where all AAPI communities thrive, feel seen, heard, and celebrated. Their goals include supporting AAPI artists, amplifying AAPI activists, investing in vulnerable AAPI communities, and building coalitions across AAPI communities and beyond. The collective values community, creativity, service, and equity.

Founded by Oakland-based artist Jocelyn Tsaih, the group initially started as Save Our Chinatowns, a response to the devastating impact of COVID-19. However, they have since expanded their focus to uplift and empower broader Asian American and Pacific Islander communities. Through their grassroots initiative, Cut Fruit Collective remains committed to serving Oakland Chinatown while striving to strengthen collaborations and make a positive impact on various communities
