CYENS Centre of Excellence (formerly known as RISE) is a cutting-edge Research and Innovation Centre on Interactive Media, Smart System, and Emerging Technologies. Supported by the European Commission, the Republic of Cyprus, and its founding partners, CYENS empowers knowledge and technology transfer in the region. With a vision to produce world-class research that drives innovation for social and economic benefit, CYENS operates under the moto Inspired by Humans, Designed for Humans.   At CYENS, a culture of innovation and creativity thrives, bringing together academics, researchers, innovators, and practitioners. With a total potential funding of over 30 million Euros, CYENS conducts excellent, internationally competitive scientific research in visual sciences, human factors and design, communication, and artificial intelligence. CYENS also offers a range of services, including its Maker Space, a multifunctional creative space open to the public. Equipped with state-of-the-art tools and guided by knowledgeable tutors and mentors, the Maker Space enables researchers, entrepreneurs, students, and makers to transform, share, and perfect their ideas efficiently and cost-effectively. Additionally, CYENS provides co-working spaces, creating an environment for start-ups, spin-offs, and independent professionals to collaborate and develop synergies. As an inclusive innovation hub, CYENS plays a vital role in connecting local experts and innovators with international entities, fostering collaborations that contribute to the growth and development of the economy. Moreover, CYENS actively engages with the local youth, nurturing their interest in emerging technologies and providing them with the necessary skills, ambitions, and networks to thrive in the ever-evolving digital landscape.
