Dallas Services is a well-established brand that is dedicated to empowering individuals with disabilities and special needs. Our mission is to foster community inclusiveness and independence, enabling these individuals to achieve their full potential. Founded in 1949 by Alfred and Mildred Sack, Dallas Services was born out of their search for an educational option for their blind daughter.

With no local options available, they opened the Dallas School for Blind Children, providing support and education for blind children in the Dallas area. Mildred Sack's advocacy led to a state bill requiring Texas schools to offer educational opportunities for blind and deaf children in their local schools. Today, Dallas Services continues to honor the founding promise of the Sacks by ensuring that all children, regardless of ability, can learn and play together.

We operate the Dallas Day School, which offers a quality learning environment that focuses on language and literacy, cognition, physical development, social-emotional development, and school readiness goals. Our goal is to provide inclusive care and education for children with special needs, catering to families from all socioeconomic backgrounds. Additionally, the Center for Vision Health, a part of Dallas Services, provides crucial vision services to low-income individuals in North Texas.

For over 35 years, we have been improving lives by increasing access to comprehensive vision care through routine and low vision services. We offer comprehensive dilated eye exams and eyeglasses to those with limited financial resources, including those on Medicaid and Medicare. At Dallas Services, we rely heavily on the support of the community to continue these vital programs.
