## Description

Danielle Stevenson is an environmental toxicologist and applied mycologist whose work focuses on using fungi to address pollution, waste, and ecosystem damage. With more than a decade of experience in bioremediation research and community-based environmental health, she connects scientific research with practical solutions, policy, and partnerships among communities, academia, and government. Her PhD research identified plant-fungi combinations for cleaning polluted sites and helped launch a youth training program that is expanding nationally. As Head of R&D at a fungal biotechnology startup, she leads research into using fungi to break down plastic in landfill environments.

Danielle founded the Centre for Applied Ecological Remediation to advance research and workforce development in fungal ecological cleanup. Through D.I.Y. Fungi, she offers mycology education, fungal spawn, and research into fungal applications in food, medicine, and remediation. Healing City Soils provides soil testing and bioremediation resources for urban growers. She also contributes to environmental initiatives through advisory and board roles, supporting land and water regeneration and community education.
