## Description

Daniel Leighton is a Los Angeles-based contemporary artist who combines art, technology, film, and the human condition in his work. He is a pioneer in iPad painting and Augmented Reality Art, creating visceral and heavily archetypal pieces that stem from resurrected visions. Daniel's art captures complicated states of the human psyche through simple lines and brilliant colors, fostering identification and acceptance of varied emotions. To further enhance his paintings, Daniel utilizes Augmented Reality (AR) technology, incorporating his backgrounds in filmmaking and computer programming. Through the Daniel Leighton Art + AR app, viewers can experience additional dimensions within his artworks, turning their devices into a portal to a parallel universe. Art critic Shana Nys Dambrot has described Daniel's paintings as luminous with a quality of rawness and intensity that is both visual and emotional. Drawing inspiration from his lifelong battle with illness, Daniel's art delves into the deepest parts of the human psyche. With a strong focus on emotions, he creates emotional landscapes that serve as revered roadmaps. Daniel's art is a powerful intersection of art, technology, and emotional exploration, pushing the boundaries of traditional art mediums.
